I have feelings for an authority figure?

I'm 16 and I have feelings for my teacher. I know full well thats not good in fact its viewed as inappropriate by most people that's why I'm really hesitant to ask this question, it's not my intention to offend anybody. Though they may glamorize it on T.V like the show " pretty little liars" and even though he's only 25 it still doesn't make me feel any better. I have reasons for why I have feelings for him it isn't like out of the blue. He's very noble and admirable struggling with a kidney failure. He told me he wouldn't get kidney transplant because others need it more than him even though he fainted in class once. & I guess it doesn't hurt that he's good looking too. He's leaving in a few days because hes a student teacher and I've gotten to become good friends with him. My question is, is it appropriate to give him a small gift ? Like a watch. I'm very mature for my age & I want to do the right thing. Considering I'm 16 I don't want to make the same mistakes most girls my age do that is letting their feelings get ahead of them
